CTE Center Capital Campaign
The CTE Capital Campaign Committee is an effort by local business owners and community members with the ISD 88 Foundation as the 501(c)(3) nonprofit fiscal sponsor. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to provide industry standard equipment for the Career Technical Education (CTE) Center.
New Ulm Public Schools is very appreciative of the great support for the Career Technical Education (CTE) Center. This is truly a private-public partnership that will provide rich and rewarding technical education and skills development for our students, as well as adults in the community and surrounding area. This project is intended to assist our region by providing future skilled workers to fill the workforce shortages many local businesses are seeing.
Outfitting and maintaining the CTE Center will take resources. We have already received generous community support of over $2,000,000 and need only $500,000 more to have the CTE Center ready for students this fall. The budget projection to fully equip and maintain the CTE Center for the next 10 years will be approximately $240,000-$325,000, with expected fluctuation each year due to staff costs, utility increases, and supply needs. New Ulm Public Schools has already committed over $300,000 for basic equipment needs and to start operating the CTE Center.
The State of Minnesota does not provide financial support for CTE programming or skilled trades courses as it does for four-year college prep programs. That’s why we’re looking for local industry and community partners to help bridge the gap. Would you consider participating in this important effort? Gifts can be made in the way that works best for you, and contributors will be prominently recognized in the CTE Center.
